Abstract

U diplomskom radu opisani su normalni i nenormalni oblici ponašanja goveda. Ponašanje goveda uvjetovano je njihovom prirodom, dobi, spolom, pasminom, uvjetima okoliša, načinima držanja i upravljanja proizvodnjom te odnosom koji stvara s čovjekom. Loše upravljanje proizvodnjom rezultirat će pojavom nepoželjnih oblika ponašanja koji imaju implikacije ne samo za dobrobit i proizvodnost goveda, već i za zdravlje ljudi uključenih u proizvodnju. Stoga je nužno unaprjeđivati proizvodne sustave i provoditi edukaciju o potrebama goveda, kako bi im se u najvećoj mogućoj mjeri omogućilo izražavanje vrsno svojstvenog ponašanja, sukladno njihovoj dobrobiti. Obogaćenje okoliša jedan je od načina kojim se može smanjiti pojava agresivnog i nenormalnog ponašanja, no pritom treba voditi računa o tome da sva goveda imaju pristup obogaćenju.

Abstract (english)

The graduation thesis describes normal and abnormal forms of behaviour in cattle. The behaviour of cattle is affected by their nature, age, sex, breed, environmental conditions, housing system and farm management, and human-animal relationship. Poor farm management will result in the occurrence of undesirable behaviours that have implications not only for the welfare and productivity of cattle, but also for the health of humans working in cattle production. Therefore, it is necessary to improve production systems and perform education on the needs of cattle, in order to enable them to express their characteristic behaviour to the greatest extent possible, which is in accordance with their welfare. Environmental enrichment is a way to reduce the occurrence of aggressive and abnormal behaviours but care must be taken to ensure that all animals have access to enrichment.
