Abstract

Fiziološke razine spolnih hormona estradiola i progesterona variraju s obzirom na
vrstu farmskih životinja, njihov pasminski sastav, spol, dob te hranidbu i nacin držanja,
regulirajuci pritom njihovu spolnu zrelost i reproduktivnu funkciju. Uzimajuci u obzir sve
navedene cimbenike, teško je sa sigurnošcu odrediti standardne fiziološke vrijednosti ovih

spolnih hormona kod razlicitih vrsta farmskih životinja. S obzirom da se spolni hormoni
mogu koristiti u terapeutske svrhe u cilju lijecenja bolesti reproduktivnog sustava, ali i biti
zlouporabljeni kao pospješivaci rasta u cilju ostvarivanja povecanih prinosa u stocarskoj
industriji, nužno je potrebno poznavanje referentnih vrijednosti odnosno njihovih fizioloških
razina. Cilj ovog rada je, uzimajuci u obzir navedene cimbenike utjecaja, istražiti fiziološke
razine prirodnih hormona estradiola i progesterona u krvi razlicitih vrsta farmskih životinja
koje se uzgajaju u svrhu proizvodnje hrane životinjskog podrijetla.

Abstract (english)

Physiological levels of sex hormones oestradiol and progesterone vary according to
the type of farm animals, their racial composition, sex, age, and feeding and the gait, thereby
regulating the their sexual maturity and reproductive function. Considering all these factors, it

is difficult to determine with certainty the standard physiological values of these sex
hormones in different species of farm animals. With regard to sex hormones may be used for
therapeutic purposes in order to cure diseases of the reproductive system, or they can be the
object of fraudulent use of growth promoters in order to achieve increased yields in the
livestock industry, the knowledge of their reference values or physiological level is necessary.
The aim of this paper is, taking into account these factors of influence, to investigate the
physiological levels of natural hormones oestradiol and progesterone in the blood of different
species of farm animals bred for the production of food of animal origin.
