Abstract

Ovaj diplomski rad imao je za cilj predočiti kliničku uporabu nesteroidnih protuupalnih
lijekova u mačaka. Nesteroidni protuupalni lijekovi se kod mačaka najčešće koriste za
smanjenje perioperativne i postoperativne boli te za kronična stanja poput degenerativne bolesti
zglobova, spinalne boli, stomatitisa i tumora. Nažalost, mali broj lijekova je službeno odobren
za uporabu kod mačaka, što će nadajmo se promijeniti budućim kliničkim istraživanjima te sve
većem napredovanju medicine i farmakologije općenito. Kao i skoro svaki lijek, NSPUL-i uz
svoje mnoge pogodovne učinke imaju i nuspojave koje se primarno očituju na
gastrointestinalnom, hepatičkom i renalnom sustavu. Potonje zahtijeva oprez prilikom liječenja
te pridržavanje pripadajućih ograničenja i kontraindikacija kako bi se mogući štetni učinci sveli
na minimum.

Abstract (english)

The goal of this graduation thesis was to present the clinical use of nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs in cats. NSAIDs are commonly used in cats, most often for reduction of
perioperative and postoperative pain and for chronic conditions such as degenerative joint
disease, spinal pain, stomatitis and neoplasms. Unfortunately, only a small number of them is
registered for use in cats, which will hopefully change in the future with multiple clinical trials
and the general advancement of medicine and pharmacology. Like almost any drug, with their
favorable effects, NSAIDs have their side effects too, that are primarily manifested on
gastrointestinal, hepatic and renal system. The latter requires caution during treatment and
abidance of restrictions and contraindications so that the adverse effects can be reduced to a
minimum.
