Abstract

Jedan od važnih uvjeta dobrobiti životinja je osigurati im život slobodan od boli, ozljeda i bolesti, što govori o važnosti otkrivanja i procjenjivanja inteziteta boli kod životinja.
Ovaj diplomski rad bavi se neurofiziologijom boli, modelima boli i načinima kako bol zatomiti te se riješiti iste. Proučavati bol možemo tek ako smo upoznati s fiziologijom i patofiziologijom organizma, kako isti funkcionira i koja je poveznica između boli i živčanog sustava.
Rad ima za cilj pojasniti osnove fiziologije i neurofiziologije te neverbalne postupke životinja kojima nam daju do znanja da se nalaze u bolnom stanju, a koje mi kao veterinari moramo znati prepoznati i pacijentima pružiti pomoć koju njihovo stanje u datom trenutku zahtjeva.
U svakodnevnoj kliničkoj praksi se susrećemo s pacijentima sa klinički manifestnom boli, a naša moralna i etička odgovornost nam nalaže provedbu postupaka otkrivanja uzroka i procjene intenziteta boli, kao i provedbu daljnjih mjera koje će dovest do uklanjanja boli odnosno izlječenja boli.

Abstract (english)

One of the important conditions regarding the animal welfare is to provide them with a life free of pain, injury and illness, which underlines the importance of detecting and assessing the intensity of pain in animals.
This thesis deals with the neurophysiology of pain, models of paim and pain management tretmants. In order to discuss pain, one should be familiar with the physiology and pathophysiology of the organism, and finally connection and correlation between the pain and the nervous system.
The aim of this paper is to clarify the basics of physiology and neurophysiology and the non-verbal animal behavior that tells us they are in pain, which we as veterinarians should be able to recognize and provide patients the service that their condition requires at a given moment.
In everyday clinical practice, we meet patients with clinically manifest pain, and our moral and ethical responsibility compells us to implement procedures for detecting the couse and assessing the intensity of pain, as well as the implementation of further measures that will be taken to remove pain and lead to full recovery.
