Abstract

Rehabilitacija i fizikalna terapija kod pacijenata sa neurološkim poremećajima od velikog su
značaja u veterinarskoj medicini. Najčešći poremećaji centralnog živčanog sustava kod pasa
vezani su za bolesti leđne moždine. Bolest međukralježničnog diska Hansen tip I najčešće se
javlja se kod mladih hondrodistrofičnih pasa, perakutnog je ili akutnog tijeka i zahtijeva
kirurško liječenje. Hansen tip II javlja se kod starijih nehondrotistrofičnih pasa i ima polagan
progresivni tijek.
Uzroci bolesti perifernog živčanog sustava mogu biti različite etiologije, pa se i neurološki
nalazi mogu razlikovati ovisno o dijelu gdje se nalazi lezija perifernog sustava. Akutni
idiopatski poliradikuloneuritis je bolest koja se relativno rijetko susreće u praksi.
Da bi odredili fizikalno terapijske protokole kod pasa sa živčanim poremećajima obavljaju se
klinički, detaljan neurološki pregled i dodatne pretrage.
Kod pasa sa poremećajima živčanog sustava primjenjuju se pasivne vježbe (pasivni raspon
pokreta, istezanje), kako oporavak napreduje počinju se primjenjivati i proprioceptivne vježbe
u kombinaciji sa primjenom metoda kao što su akupunktura, elektrostimulacija, terapijski
ultrazvuk, masaža, hidroterapija. Kod pasa sa Hansen tip I bolesti međukralježničnog diska
fizikalna terapija je dio postoperativne terapije.
Svaki fizikalno terapijski protokol treba biti osmišljen za svakog pacijenta individualno i tokom
rehabilitacije treba pratiti zdravstveno stanje pacijenta.

Abstract (english)

Rehabilitation and physical therapy in patients with neurological disorders are of great
importance in veterinary medicine. The most common central nervous system disorders in dogs
are related to spinal cord diseases. Hansen type I intervertebral disc disease most commonly
occurs in young chondrodystrophic dogs, is peracute or acute, and requires surgical treatment.
Hansen type II occurs in older non-chondrodystrophic dogs and has a slow progressive course.
The causes of diseases of the peripheral nervous system can be of different aetiologies, so the
neurological findings may differ depending on the part where the lesion of the peripheral
system is located. Acute idiopathic polyradiculoneuritis is a disease that is relatively rare in
practice.
Clinical, detailed neurological and additional examinations are performed to determine
physical therapy protocols in dogs with nervous system disorders.
In dogs with nervous system disorders passive exercises are used (passive range of motion,
stretching), as recovery progresses proprioceptive exercises are used as well in combination
with methods such as acupuncture, electrostimulation, therapeutic ultrasound, massage,
hydrotherapy. In dogs with Hansen type I intervertebral disc disease, physical therapy is part
of postoperative therapy.
Each physical therapy protocol should be designed for each patient individually and the
patient's health should be monitored during rehabilitation.
