Abstract

Neonatalne infekcije i proljevi u teladi su vrlo česti te su uzrok visoke smrtnosti.
Proljevi u novorođene teladi utječu na optimalno poslovanje farme, posebice u sustavu kravatele,
jer takve farme svoje poslovanje temelje na prodaji teladi za daljnji tov. Od osobite
važnosti je pojava akutnih oblika proljeva gdje telad u kratkom vremenu ugiba od dehidracije.
Niz čimbenika utječe na pojavnost proljeva, a posebna važnost se pridaje nekim od
bakterijskih, virusnih i protozoarnih uzročnika.U većini područja su to E. coli, rotavirusi,
koronavirusi i Cryptosporidium parvum. Sam proljev je vrlo često multikauzalan, a
definiranje uzročnika je važno zbog određivanja terapije i profilakse za druge životinje. Za
potrebe ovog diplomskog rada obrađeni su slučajevi proljeva teladi starosti do sedam dana na
farmi Poljo-Davor d.o.o., iz Davora. Dijagnostika i liječenje su izvedeni uz pomoć djelatnika
Veterinarske ambulante Landia d.o.o., iz Tordinaca. Opisano je 15 slučajeva sa bijeložutim
proljevom intenzivnog kiselog mirisa, štio klinički upućuje ne infekciju sa E. coli. Unatoč
ranom otkrivanju proljeva i pristupu simptomatskoj i potpornoj terapiji, veći broj teladi je
nažalost uginuo. Značajan utjecaj su svakako imali i loši vremenski uvjeti te hrana manje
kvalitete zbog suše u prethodnoj godini.

Abstract (english)

Neonatal infections and diarrhea are very common in calves, and are the cause of high
mortality. Diarrhea in newborn calves affect optimal farming, especially in the cow-veal
system, because such farms are based on the sale of calves. Acute diarrhea is very important,
due to fast onset of dehydration in affected calves. A number of factors affect the onset of
diarrhea, and some of the bacterial, viral and protozoal agents are of particular importance. In
most areas predominate E. coli, rotaviruses, coronaviruses and Cryptosporidium parvum.
Diarrhea is very often of multicausal nature, and the definition of causative agents is
important for determining appropriate therapy and prophylaxis for other animals. For the
purpose of this thesis, cases of diarrhea in calves up to seven days old on the farm Poljo-
Davor d.o.o. are described. Diagnosis and treatment were performed with the help of the staff
from Veterinary practice Landia d.o.o., from Tordinci. Fifteen cases of white-yellow coloured
diarrhea with intense sour scent have been described. Those clinical findings are highly
susceptible for E. coli infection. Despite early detection of diarrhea and access to symptomatic
and supportive therapy, a large number of calves have unfortunately died. Bad weather
conditions and feed of less quality, due to drought in the previous year, certainly had
negatively influenced these cases.
