Abstract

Kunići imaju visoki prirast i visoku plodnost. Poznati su po kratkom generacijskom
intervalu što ih čini savršenom vrstom životinja za proizvodnju potomstva. Graviditet traje
kratko, između 28 i 33 dana. Prosječan broj legala godišnje je 6, a u svakom leglu se nalazi u
prosjeku 5 mladunaca. Ženke kunića nemaju tipičan spolni ciklus. Ovulacija je inducirana
zaskokom druge jedinke. Ženke mogu biti u rasplodu od 5 mjeseci starosti do 3 godine.
Graviditet se može dijagnosticirati palpacijom abdomena 10. dan nakon koitusa, dok se
rendgenološki plodovi vide 12. dan nakon koitusa. Neplodnost se kod kunića javlja jako
rijetko. Svaku rasplodnu životinju je potrebno pregledati prije parenja. Posebnu pažnju treba
posvetiti perinealnim i genitalnim dijelovima tijela. Plodnost ovisi o dobi, zdravlju, prehrani,
hormonalnoj ravnoteži, nepostojanju abnormalnosti reproduktivnih organa, učestalosti
parenja, nepostojanju infekcija, klimi i godišnjem dobu.

Abstract (english)

Rabbits have high daily gain and high fertility. They are also known for their short
generation interval and this makes them the perfect type of animal offspring production.
Pregnancy lasts a short time, between 28 and 33 days. The average number of litters per year
is 6, and each litter contains in average 5 newborns. Female rabbits do not have a typical
sexual cycle. Ovulation is induced by the jump of another individual. Does can be be in
breeding from 5 months to 3 years. Pregnancy can be diagnosed by palpation of the abdomen
on the 10ᵗʰ day after coitus, while fetuses can be seen radiologically on the 12ᵗʰ day after
coitus. Infertility occurs very rarely in rabbits. Each breeding animal must be examined before
mating. Special attention should be paid to the perineal and genital parts of the body. Fertility
depends on age, health, diet, hormonal balance, absence of reproductive system abnormalities,
mating frequency, absence of infections, climate and season.
