Abstract

Jedni od najčešćih endokrinoloških poremećaja u pasa i mačaka su poremećaji u funkciji nadbubrežne žlijezde koji se mogu pojaviti u obliku hiperfunkcije ili hipofunkcije nadbubrežne žlijezde. Uzrok hipofunkcije i hiperfunkcije nadbubrežne žljezde može biti unutar nadbubrežne žlijezde, izvan nadbubrežne žlijezde odnosno jatrogeni. Unutarnji čimbenici koji dovode do poremećene sekrecije glukokortikoida i mineralokortikoida su hiperplazija kore nadbubrežne žlijezde, kortikalna krvarenja, funkcionalni kortikalni adenomi i karcinomi te funkcionalni feokromocitomi. Vanjski čimbenici mogu biti tumor hipofize ili jatrogena aplikacija kortikosteroida. Hiperfunkcija nadbubrežne žlijezde može se manifestirati Cushingovim sindromom, hiperaldosteronizmom i simptomima koji su posljedica pretjeranog lučenja katekolamina iz feokromocitoma. Hipofunkcija nadbubrežne žlijezde uzrokuje Addisonovu bolest. Izuzetno je važno precizno postaviti dijagnozu kako bi uklonili uzrok hiperfunkcije ili hipofunkcije nadbubrežne žlijezde i produžili život životinji. U većini slučajeva pri pravodobnom liječenju prognoza je povoljna.

Abstract (english)

One of the most common endocrine disorders in cats and dogs are disorders in the function of the adrenal gland that may occur as a hypofunction or hyperfunction of the adrenal gland. Cause of hypofunction and hyperfunction of the adrenal glands may be within, or outside the adrenal glands or iatrogenic. Internal factors that lead to impaired secretion of glucocorticoids and mineralocorticoid are hyperplasia of adrenal cortex, cortical hemorrhage, functional cortical adenomas and carcinomas and functional pheochromocytomas. External factors may be pituitary tumor or iatrogenic administration of corticosteroids. Hyperfunction of the adrenal glands can be manifested as Cushing's syndrome, hyperaldosteronism, and symptoms resulting from excessive secretion of catecholamines from pheochromocytoma. A hypofunction of the adrenal gland causing Addison's disease. It is extremely important to set accurately diagnose in order to eliminate the cause hyperfunction or hypofunction of the adrenal glands and extend the life of the animal. In most cases with appropriate treatment the prognosis is favorable
